In October 2026 we checked the published prices of 55 small web design agencies and freelancers in five countries. The cheapest complete website each one sells had a median starting price of:

Cheap web design that costs you more: what to check
A low price can hide costs that show up later. Before you pay for an affordable website, check:

The monthly fee. A site that costs £149 to build and £19 a month for hosting costs £377 in the first year.

How many pages you get. Many of the cheapest packages are one page. Ask what a second page costs.

Who makes changes, and what they cost. If every new price or photo needs an email and an invoice, your site will go out of date.

Who owns the domain. It should be registered in your name, so you keep it if you leave.
